LG have just announced the market availability of their first Android handset - the LG InTouch Max GW620. That makes it three out of the top five mobile phones manufacturers selling Google Operating System (OS) devices, with the Sony Ericsson membership in this club being just a matter of time.

The LG InTouch Max GW620 is a full QWERTY-packing side slider with a 3" HVideo Graphics Array (VGA) display. It runs on Android 1.5 (or otherwise known as Cupcake) and sports a 5 megapixel autofocus camera, capable of taking D1 videos @ 30 fps.

The other noteworthy features of the LG GW620 include a microSD card slot, GPS and Wi-Fi. The quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE support is complemented by HSDPA 7.2 Mbps.

It might not be the best spec'd Android smartphone around but the LG GW620 seems like a pretty fine deal at this stage.
